06.30.08 :: The schedule for this weekend has been updated. The team will be racing at Bedford Speedway on July 4th and Hagerstown on July 5th. Hope to see you at the track! 06.29.08 :: The #8J Limited competed at The Rock on Friday night in the Super Late Model Dwane Shultz Memorial event. Jamey looked at the event as adding some extra seat time to his season and came out with a 7th place finish, after starting 14th. Check back later in the week for schedule changes/adjustments and hope for better weekend weather! 06.24.08 :: Mother Nature once again took her wrath out on the Speedway Friday night. As the first heat race of the night took to the track, the rain began to fall and eventually the entire evening was called. Plans for this coming weekend are still in the air, so make sure to check back to see where Jamey and Matt will be running. 06.15.08 :: It was a pretty good night for the #8J at the Rock on Sunday evening. After starting 8th in the feature event, Jamey was able to finish 4th with a strong run. The track surface didn't lean itself towards much passing, but the car returned to the trailer in one piece and Jamey was satisfied with the run. The cars (#8 and #8J) will be in action once again this Friday night (06.20) at The Rock. 06.14.08 :: Racing was rained out at The Rock on Friday night. They have rescheduled the racing action for Saturday, June 15th with hot laps starting at 6:30 p.m. Come on out and support the #8J -- the weather is looking great! 06.09.08 :: The #8 and the #8J went north to Hesston on Saturday to try their hand at the little short track. This was Jamey's first trip to the track in his career and one he's not looking forward to remembering! In the feature event, Jamey was able to find a line on the slick track that worked and looked to be headed to a solid feature finish. Instead, he was the victim of an incident in Turn 3 that ended his evening and his weekend of racing. Even with the dedication of the Sponaugle Racing team, the car wasn't able to be repaired for Sunday's action at The Rock. You can find the #8J next week though, as he'll head back to The Rock on Friday night. By the way, check out the new web home for "The Boss", Jamey's car owner & teammate, Matt Sponaugle! 05.28.08 :: The team traveled to Bedford on Sunday for their LLM special, as The Rock had the week off. Jamey managed a solid 6th place finish (after starting 8th). Matt was mired back in traffic and came home in 12th. Both cars came home clean, but both drivers were a little dissapointed that the track surface didn't lead to better racing. This week, the team will be at The Rock on Friday night for the rescheduled LLM Cumberland/Hagerstown Clash event. 05.16.08 :: Someone has been doing a rain dance for Friday night racing across the Northeast. Once again, The Rock rained out...but hopefully we'll get a show in tomorrow night at Hagerstown Speedway! Update: Saturday was a wash as well. Maybe next week will bring nicer weather! 05.11.08 :: Mother Nature decided to rain heavily on the events for Friday night at The Rock. Even though the weather cleared up later in the day, the track had taken on too much moisture to be raced on that evening. You can find both the #8J and the #8 in action next weekend. Friday night, The Rock will host one segment of the Limited Late Model Clash. On Saturday, the team will travel to Hagerstown Speedway for the second segment of the Clash event. 05.07.08 :: Jamey and Sponaugle Racing recorded a third place feature finish at The Rock on Friday night. Unfortunately a broken axle tube kept Jamey from competing at Winchester (VA) Speedway on Saturday. Note: This site only houses news tidbits.
